A former friend of ours who lives in Ireland posted this link recently about animals and mental illness. Seems humans are not so different from the animal world at all.

one of the witness rebuttals that is used to belittle the christmas holiday is the one where they say that people reduce jesus christ to being just a baby in a manger, whereas the witnesses recognize him as a mighty king, a much more accurate and current way to view jesus.
a baby in a manger is a sweet sight on any day, it's true, but more is going on than meets the eye in the case of jesus.
this particular baby is the first baby to have been born without an earthly father, the immaculate conception.
And while Jesus should be hailed as a heavenly king, he is presented as being a chief angel called Michael instead.
so i mentioned to my pimi brother that the org.
only grew by 1.4 % 2 years in row and if you factor in the birthrate of 1.1 % that's only 3/10 of 1% growth for all that hard work.
i thought people would be streaming to the mountain of jehovah in the last days?
When they say that they read it in the Watchtower therefore it must be true I reply saying I don't believe in conspiracy theories.
Conspiracy theory? 1 or 2 do ask.
Yes, the theory based on regularly revised made up prophecy that the world is ending anytime soon.
when waking up it often isn't an instant switch, there's a period of time when your conflicted feelings are heightened and most uncomfortable.
can anyone remember specific instances in the time before you fully woke up that made you uncomfortable or guilty, despite you still being a 'believer'?.
i can think of two right now, both about a year or two before i woke up:.
WillYouDFme, your comment is identical to my own experiences. It is hard to stop after being used to public speaking at elders schools, assemblies etc. But comes the realisation that we were only regurgitating what we were told to use, even where it made no logical sense. Like the men of old looking to the heavenly kingdom but twisting the scripture to say that it was an earthly kingdom because they wouldn't be in heaven. I couldn't believe that.
And Jesus as Michael the archangel never made sense in light of Hebrews 1.
The troubles in our congregation made me want to run away before I knocked somebody's teeth in. I still feel hurt over the nasty way I was treated by men that I had helped along in the truth. But I have freedom of choice now to do what I want to do not looking over my shoulder in case I was being watched or recorded.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all.

she has since posted another jw propaganda piece .
these look like they are from the wt and are official evangelising tools .
The WT organisation has recently said that nothing from their literature or from the jw(dot) org website is to be shared online especially not on social media sites. They claim that it infringes the copyright of their material.
So it probably means that whoever is posting this online wants to preach to the world, but at the same time is being disobedient to the GB.

I can recall one oldie who would have taken you to task for using the word Fantastic in your talk.
Because fantastic derived from Fantasy, and if something was a fantasy it didn't exist. So you couldn't say "I hope our pioneers will have a fantastic time at the school."
Fantastic! Take that brother into the back room and have him shot....
i was talking to a friend who is an elder in a congregation near belfast city over in northern ireland.
he was telling me that several of the sisters wanted to put fresh flowers in the hall on a weekly basis just to pretty the place up.
he said "sure, why not, it's a great idea, and the congregation will reimburse the costs as long as they aren't too expensive.

But then there was (his words) "a bloody big row" because the coordinating elder said that the LDC (local design committee) members did not approve of flowers inside a Kingdom Hall. End of story!
So apparently every congregation has to now obey the whim of each LDC if they want to stay approved. Personal choices are FORBIDDEN.
He is PIMI but for the 1st time ever I heard him say "what the hell is this rubbish, it is becoming more like a dictatorial cult every flipping day! Over what, a couple of bunches of pretty flowers."
I hope this crack might soon widen and he will begin to see the light. Please pray that he does.
just curious if anyone put off having kids because the end was so close.
or because of you're "ministry" or lack of suitable mates..
Sort of. I didn't meet my wife until we both were well past the bloom of youth. Me being busy as an elder, she being busy pioneering. We wish we had met 20 years earlier and had a family, but we did not. But the number of friends who kept saying "in the new world you can" didn't take the regret away.
